The beauty of the butterfly in all the glory and exuberance that surrounds it.  Many of us find comfort when we see the butterfly.  We are reminded of our loved ones who have passed on into the world of spirit.  We see their spirits soaring like the gorgeous butterfly.

Let us also enjoy the butterfly as a symbol of life. We too can soar like the butterfly if we will let ourselves live the lives we have been born for.

Can we rid of our “impossibility thinking” and instead find out what is possible in each situation we come across in life?

Suffering with the summer humidity? Do you need a weather attitude adjustment?

Having lived in many parts of the US and traveled in Europe and Asia, one thing is for sure: no matter where people live they complain about the weather. Of course when a terrible storm is on the horizon it is reasonable to take precautions and take the weather seriously.  But most of the time, we complain about the weather because it is too cold, too hot, too humid, two windy or too rainy. When it is not raining, we complain about the need for rain, and when it does rain we complain about how our special outdoors event had to be moved inside.    Hopefully we can laugh at ourselves and see what complainers we are at times, and how we need an attitude adjustment when it comes to the weather.

We bond with each other as we complain about the weather.  It is easier to talk about the rain or the humidity than it is to talk about what the weather really means.  As we experience the different cycles of the weather we come to understand that nature is more powerful than we are, and with all our advances in civilization, the weather is not something we can control.

Perhaps it is more important to be grateful for the weather as it is a sign that we are here living on this planet, able to experience the weather. Perhaps each time the weather changes, we could use the change as a moment to be grateful for the planet we live on and reflect on ways to encourage the survival of civilization on our planet.

Be like the gecko resting on the branch

Feeling the warmth of the sun

Be like the gecko moving slowly through life

Blending in with the surroundings

The gecko has no need to be the fastest and the most talked about creature in the world

The gecko has no need to be the richest or rest in the tallest tree

The gecko just IS

The gecko knows how to BE

We have much to learn from the gecko

Cruising Down the River November 8, 2009

Fall Trip 2009 153the riverAs I gaze at the river I see my life stretched before me.  The river is life the path of my life that is constantly flowing and changing.  I am in a small boat as I cruise down the river, and depending on the moment, the waters are calm or rough.  Depending on the amount of rain, the river will flow over the side of its banks or its water level will become lower and lower.  The river is always changing, but one thing is certain: the river is always flowing.  I can flow with it, or park my boat on the shore and walk away.  Today I choose to continue to cruise down the river, and find joy as the river changes.  Sometimes the ride will not be pleasant, but most of the time I will feel like it was a good choice to be on the river.

We Are All Mother’s of the Earth Let Us Not Escape into Cyberspace May 8, 2009

As we approach Mother’s day, it is a day that we think about caring for others. That is what a mother must do for her children.  On Mother’s day let us all find a way to find the mother instinct within. Every woman and man has the instinct of a parent.

As we find ourselves so comfortable in “cyberspace” I sometimes wonder if we are going more inward into technology, because we fear that being outside will ultimately not be safe. Sometimes I wonder if children are so involved in computers and in cyberspace because they know that the new world will not be as safe outside as it has been for generations past. When I have these feelings, I hope I am wrong.

I pray that we can seriously once again learn to take care of the earth, and all be mothers to the earth.

The Queen of Double Tasking Stresses Out December 11, 2008

I admit it. I can cook dinner, check my email, return phone calls and clean up the house—ALL at the same time. I respond to almost all emails the same day, return phone calls within 24 hours, and find ways to do readings, write books, and travel to do demonstrations of mediumship. I am great at finding a way to schedule all this BUT I am very stressed out.  I am going to have to give up my crown and no longer be the Queen of Double Tasking.  It is time for me to do one thing at a time, focus on the one thing, and enjoy whatever I am doing.  Right now, I am really enjoying writing this post and I am not listening for my phone at the same time. THIS is a small change, but it is progress.

I know I will show my age when I tell you that I remember the days before there were any telephone answering machines. If you wanted to reach someone, you might be dialing ALL day until someone picked up the phone. It IS less stressful to be able to leave a message now that we have answering machines.  But I am not sure that having my cell phone on all the time and being in constant contact with the world is best for me or for any of us.

Before cell phones I spent many a morning taking a walk to find a beautiful spot where I would sit down and write the lyrics of a song.  My time outside was so important to me. Now I find myself on the computer instead of in the garden or walking along a beautiful road.

I would like to feel better and less stressed out.

HOW ABOUT YOU?  Do you double and triple task? Is this good for you?
