Holiday time can be a GREAT time for spiritual growth, if we can learn to step back and take care of ourselves. At holiday time there can be too much to do, and therefore a great opportunity to practice self care.

Life’s challenges do not stop because it is holiday time. There are always concerns in our families about our loved ones and our pets. And if our good friends need our support at the same time, holiday time can become incredibly stressful if we let it.  This is the time to practice stepping back. This is the time to remember those three important words “Keep It Simple.”  It is not necessary to create the perfect holiday and in fact it is often impossible.

Some of us try to make up for all of the problems of the year during holiday times. We have expectations surrounding visits with our family and friends that simply cannot be met.  Life keeps happening all around us, and people still get sick and pass on,  jobs are lost by some, and all the things that can be difficult to cope with do not stop happening because it is holiday time.

Holiday time is the time to us to stay in touch with ourselves, do some spiritual reading and reflexion and pay attention to our breathing.  This is the time to monitor our stress and keep stress symptoms from building up within us.

We must remember a good holiday is a day we feel good, really good, instead of trying to pretend we feel wonderful when we are actually exhausted. If we take care of ourselves throughout this season, we can feel good on the actual holidays.

When Your Mother is in Spirit May 10, 2009

My mother is no longer living in a physical body, and that makes mother’s day different than it used to be.  While my relationship with my mother was difficult, I still miss her very much. She was not well emotionally most of my life, and so life with mother was complicated.  But I still miss her.

Fortunately, I have learned that life is eternal and so I know the spirits of all my loved ones are around me.  When I discovered that I was a medium and could communicate with those in the world of spirit, my whole view of life changed.  Life for me now, is an extended spiritual path way that goes on forever.

What has been most interesting for me is to experience the evolution of my mother’s spirit.  When I first experienced her spirit soon after she passed into eternal life, her consciousness felt restless to me. Now when I experience her spirit, she seems peaceful.  I would say that all this is wishful thinking on my part if I did not do readings week after week and have people validate the information that comes through.  As I receive messages for my clients from the spirits of their loved ones, I have the continual opportunity of having the afterlife validated, again and again and again.   For me, this is a blessing.  Otherwise, I might not believe my own spiritual communications with my own loved ones in the world of spirit.

So on this Mother’s Day, I send a special greeting to all who do not have mother’s living in the physical any longer. I pray that you can feel the presence of your mother’s spirit.

Giving Thanks in Hard Times November 25, 2008

This is the time of the year that we give thanks for all that we have.  For some of us who have recently lost a loved one, it can become difficult to feel thankful.  As a psychic medium who communicates with the spirits of our loved ones, I suggest that at this time of the year we send our prayers to all of our loved ones who are now in the world of spirit.  Those who have passed to the world of spirit within the past year particularly need our prayers at this time.  My experience tells me that their spirits will be around us during our holiday season and that they will hear our prayers.

Even those in spirit whom we did not get along with at all while they were living, hear our prayers.  My communications with those who have passed on have taught me that all our loved ones are evolving spiritually on the other side of life, and so even those who were not easy to get along with, are improving spiritually.

And as we focus on our loved ones in the world of spirit, let us not forget to give thanks for those who are living and near and dear to us. Sometimes it is easy to take our friends and relatives for granted.

I invite you to respond to this Thanksgiving Post, with your own words of thanks. I wish you a thanksgiving day full of hope.
