Ban Double Tasking January 13, 2010

When we meditate the goal is to let all our thoughts go. Sometimes the goal of the meditation is to concentrate on a particular image or focus on the name of the Supreme Being, whether we use the word God, the Divine, Beloved or another name.  In meditation we do not allow ourselves to run helter skelter through the realms of meditation. Yet during our normal day, many of us try to do six things at once, and then wonder why we feel so scattered.

It has been said by many great spiritual teachers that our lives should be lived as if we were meditating. We should be mindful of each thing that we do, as we are doing it.  Doing on thing at a time is sure to bring us back to sanity.
