Taking a first of the year look? Shall we have a tantrum as we think about all the things we would like to change, or shall we dance to the tune of moderation, self acceptance and reasonable goals for the future?  Which path do you choose?  After having a tantrum, I usually calm down and choose the road of moderation.  It is the only path to walk without constantly stumbling and skinning your knees!

Change is good and there is no better time than NOW. It seems as if in the beginning of the year, we take a good look at ourselves and we take an even harder look at our lives.  We make goals and lists of things we want to acquire and/or accomplish.

Lofty goals are great, but if they are not goals that one can actually realize, then having these goals is like having day dreams about all kinds of things that we are not willing to work for.  Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh: work for!   Those are the two magic words: work for.  As much as some of us would like to just put thoughts out into the universe about what we want, and then find our gifts waiting on the door step,  the truth is that we usually have to take actions and work hard for the things we want in life.  And perhaps that is good, because as we work hard, we have many life changing experiences.

So are you with me?  Let’s walk together in 2010 and do what we need to do to make our lives better. And as we make our own lives better, let’s make sure we remember that we are all ONE in this world. As we help ourselves, let’s all help each other.
