Peace through Focus December 4, 2009

 Learing to focus on one thing at a time is an ancient spiritual practice that we need to revive, before we all lose our sanity.  In our multi-task world, we are losing the ability to focus on one thing at a time. We  become frantic and stressed.

Those who practice meditation relieve the stress in their lives by allowing the mind to put all thoughts of the day in the background. And in meditations where the objective is to concentrate on a word or an image, the meditator becomes quiet within by simply focusing on one thing.

For the moment imagine a beautiful flower, and position the flower within your consciousness, so that you can look deeply into the center of this flower.  Allow all thoughts to leave you and simply experience the flower.  As you do so,  notice how relaxed and peaceful you become.  This one simple exercise can transform your energy in the moment.  And by experiencing peace, even for a moment, you will be able to bring the vibrations of peace into the rest of your day.
