When you start to become conscious that those in the world of spirit are beginning to speak to you, it can be an overwhelming experience. Many just push the experience away and chalk it up to their imaginations. And of course sometimes all of us do imagine things. But when spirit is really speaking to us, there is often a gentle feeling of bliss. We know that we are in the midst of vibrations that are different than usual. We can sense a beautiful presence that is not ordinarily around us. At these times we may be experiencing the presence of the spirit of a loved one who has passed on or the presence of a spiritual guidance essence.
Opening up to communication from those in the world of spirit is like the opening of a beautiful flower. Do not shut spirit out. If the experience is too overwhelming, say to spirit “step back a bit as I am new to this.”
Learning to communicate with those in spirit can be a beautiful experience.

Want a Reading? But What Kind? July 28, 2010

In my role as a psychic medium I talk to people every day who want a reading. Depending on a person’s experience, cultural background and education regarding readings, the expectations of people are all over the place. It is clear that the general public needs to understand that there are many kinds of readings available, and beyond that must also understand that readers each have their own style. It is also clear that those of us who give readings must make sure before booking an appointment, that the prospective client is informed about what to expect in the reading.
As readers we have extremely different perspectives on what a reading should be. This makes it extremely confusing for those who seek readings. And yet, it would be impossible to standardize our readings as one thing we as readers can most likely agree on is that Spirit works with us in different ways. We are not able to mass produce our readings and thank the Lord, that we cannot. A good reading is mystical and the reader is able to bring through messages from loved ones, spiritual guidance and inspiration. This cannot be standardized. Although education for readers is extremely important as we can learn how to best use the spiritual gifts we have been given, at some point we will not individually be able to follow all the rules and guidelines we have learned from our human teachers, as ultimately the Spirit Within each reader will be the most important teacher.
So what is the person who wants to get a reading to do? How can people know what kind of reading to get and which reader to choose?
After answering questions about readings on the phone for many years, I said to myself one day “You know Carole, what you need to do is write a small book for the people who want to understand more about readings. And so I wrote “How to Get a Good Reading From a Psychic Medium.” I ask people who are confused about readings, to read this book and then call me back with any additional questions. I also ask those who are going to have a reading with me, to read the book before hand as they will then come into our readings as an oriented client, rather than a disoriented client. I am likely to do a much better job with a client who knows what is going on.
Some of my colleagues now keep a stack of How to Get a Good Reading From a Psychic Medium in their offices. They find that this book helps their clients. Communicating with Mom in Spirit May 7, 2010

We all wish we had the idyllic relationship with Mom, that we see in this picture, but most of us did not. And if fact, if we are mothers with daughters, most of us do not have perfect relationships with our daughters. And to take this thought a step further, most relationships are not perfect and require hard work, patience and unconditional love. Relationships offer us the challenge we need to move forward on the spiritual path.
As we approach Mother’s Day here in the US, many of us have thoughts about our mothers, and it is a bitter sweet time for those of us whose mothers are now in the world of spirit. Mother’s Day becomes a time to remember our mothers, as we are not able to go have lunch with them and present our gifts and cards.
The other day, I did a reading for a client, whose mother in spirit came through. This mother had been a difficult woman during her lifetime, and as my client and I communicated with her, it was clear that as a spiritual being, she has lost all her difficult mannerisms in the same way that people lose their physical problems when they pass into the world of spirit. What a joy it was to communicate with the spirit of this woman.
Those of us who had difficult times with our mothers when they were alive, and who also take part in the sacred practice of spirit communication, often find that over a period of years we develop the very beautiful relationships with our mothers that we had always yearned for. Of course mom in spirit cannot take us shopping, but she can help us with our lives and bring the love and healing she was not capable of bringing during her life on earth.
Because mediums are able to bring us evidence that in fact we are in communication with the spirit of mom, we can have it proven to us that we are not involved in a huge fantasy.
If your mom is in the world of spirit, remember her for all her best qualities on Mother’s Day, and if you were fortunate to have an almost perfect relationship with your Mother, you are very blessed. For the rest of us, let us forgive our mothers as we must forgive ourselves for the mistakes we have made if we ARE mothers. Mother’s Day is bitter-sweet, and let’s choose the sweet, as sweet is more healing and helps us move onward on the path of unconditional love.

Should I get a Reading? March 10, 2010

MEDIUMISTIC READINGS: Have a mediumistic reading with an educated and experienced medium when you want to hear from loved ones who have passed on. You have to be open to whoever comes through from spirit in your reading, but a good medium will most likely, (in my opinion) be able to connect with the person you want most to hear from. I do not like to know any information beforehand as it will only confuse me as to whether I am getting the information from spirit or from the client. I also do not like to have clients show me pictures of their loved ones in spirit, as I can tell alot about a person from seeing their picture, but it does not mean that I have connected with that person in spirit. It is only fair to say that many professional and well known mediums disagree with me on this point, and feel that looking at a picture simply helps them link with the person the client wants to communicate with.
Before making an appointment with any medium, do your research. Study the website of the medium, or if this medium does not prefer to have a website, then talk to the medium on the phone and ask yourself “Am I going to be comfortable with this medium?” I feel that the repore between the medium and the client is important, and the combined energies of the medium and the client, create a spiritual platform, so to speak, for spirit to come through on. This does not mean that a medium cannot give a great and evidential reading to a client who is hard to get along with and irritated with the medium, but a reading should be a sacred experience as well as a time to get proof that we really can communicate with those in spirit. It can be hard to be part of a sacred experience for both the medium and client if the vibes between them are negative. Trust your gut instict as you choose a medium. How do you feel when you read the medium’s website? Or how to you feel on the phone with the medium?
PSYCHIC/INTUITIVE READINGS: When you are honestly looking for guidance, have a psychic reading, which some of us call intuitive readings. There is absolutley no sense in having an intuitive reading if you are not open to hearing guidance from the psychic medium. Some clients spend their whole time arguing with the guidance the reader is giving them instead of listening and taking it in. It goes without saying: a client does not have to follow the advice if he or she does not choose to. But if a client already knows what they want to do and they are not open to any other suggestions, why have a reading in the first place? It is a waste of time and a waste of money.
Sometimes in an intuitive reading you will hear suggestions that match exactly the direction that you have already decided to take. This is wonderful, as now you have confirmation that you are on the right track. But other times you will hear suggestions that are opposite of what you have in mind. Does this mean the reader is wrong? No. What it means is that the reader is not receiving from spirit the suggestions that you have in mind. Quite frankly, a good psychic medium might be able to figure out what he or she thinks you want to hear, and make you very happy by repeating your own ideas back to you. But this would not be an honest reading. A credible reader will tell you the advice that she hears even if you are likely to disagree. The point of an intuitive reading is to tell you honestly what is coming through from spirit. I have always found that spirit only gives us advice that is uplifting and helpful, never negative. So if you choose an educated and experienced reader, with good references and referrals, you should get an honest and compassionate reading. If you do not agree with the advice, take your time to consider what has been said after the reading. If you spend your time arguing with the reader, you have wasted your time and money.
